The goal of this project was to create a sustainable design framework for guiding the preservation and development of the Sea of Galilee region and beaches in a balanced, educated manner, thus fully utilizing the development potential of the area as pertains to settlement, tourism and recreational facilities, while preserving its cultural uniqueness, natural resources, landscape, and the quality of the water in the Sea of Galilee, as the prime source of drinking water for the Israeli population.
The planning of transportation, roads and accessibility was divided into two main areas. The first: proposed changes in the main and regional road systems around the Sea of Galilee. The second: redesigning the Sea of Galilee beaches.
