The Metronit mass transit system is a system of long buses that travel on dedicated public transport lanes through most of their route, serving the Haifa metropolitan area.
Our firm had won the tender for designing a large part of Line 3 of the Haifa Metronit system. The 16 km long route connects Krayot Central Station in northern Kiryat Motzkin to HaNevi’im Junction in Hadar HaCarmel. We planned the northern segment from Krayot Central Bus Station to the Stadium/Shenkar St. Junction – a 6 km long segment that included 25 junctions and crosswalks with traffic lights.
The project also included adding a new public transport lane along the entire segment (both ways), designing junctions with traffic lights that prioritized the Metronit, constructing the platforms, planning the paving works along the route and coordinating infrastructure works.
